UV RESISTANCE
Holds colour and surface integrity under prolonged sun exposure.
High-performance surface technologies developed for the demanding conditions of marine applications.
Salt, UV and constant humidity work on a surface at the same time. Marine upholstery has to hold its appearance and its structure under all three, in the cabin and on deck alike.
Penche Marine collections are marine faux leather surfaces developed for yachts, boats and commercial vessels. UV resistance, salt water and mould resistance, cold crack resistance and FR options are verified by laboratory testing in every collection, for interior and exterior use alike.
Our colour development team carries out bespoke colour and texture work at every scale, from luxury yacht projects to series-built boats. Our fast sampling process keeps us in step with shipyards and upholstery workshops.
All values are documented with test data in the technical data sheet of each collection.
Holds colour and surface integrity under prolonged sun exposure.
Protection against surface degradation in sea water contact and high humidity.
Flexibility at low temperatures, verified by cold crack testing.
A long-life structure against chemical breakdown in humid environments.
Alternatives compliant with marine fire safety requirements.
A stain-resistant surface texture that simplifies daily maintenance.
Interior and exterior alike: cabin upholstery, helm and passenger seating, and the deck cushions usually specified as marine vinyl.
Marine vinyl — marine-grade faux leather — is a coated upholstery surface built for salt, UV and humidity. It is used on helm and passenger seating, cabin upholstery and deck cushions.
MED certification is handled collection by collection. Tell us the vessel type and the flag state and we will confirm which of the marine collections carries the certificate you need.
By cold crack testing, which checks that the surface stays flexible at low temperature. The result is stated on each technical data sheet, alongside UV, hydrolysis and mould resistance.
Yes. The marine collections are developed for interior and exterior use, which is why UV and hydrolysis resistance are tested on every one of them.
Bespoke tone and texture work in our R&D laboratory.
Test data for every collection is shared as documentation.
